Last Man Standing, Season 3, Episode 6, Recap: Larabee for School Board


Kyle is jealous of Ryan and Ed’s friendship.  When Mike is reluctant to support Carol Larabee’s bid for the school board, he comes under suspicion when campaign signs start disappearing. Eve gets mixed messages when Kristin and Mandy give her advice on romance.

Kyle, Ed and Ryan

Although Ryan is a low-level employee at The Outdoor Man, he and Ed have really connected. They talk about coffee, rose plants, and Ryan’s trek through Brazil. Ed even invites Ryan out to lunch. Having worked at The Outdoor Man for nearly four years, Kyle isKyle and Ed jealous of Ryan’s ability to connect after only two weeks of being there. Kyle admits his feelings to Ed Alzate. Ed realizes that he had been underappreciating Kyle and invites him out to lunch some time.

Mike, Vanessa and the Larabees

Remember the Mike and Vanessa’s neighbors, Chuck and Carol Larabee? Carol is running for school board and she asks the Baxters to put her campaign sign in their yard. Vanessa immediately agrees. Mike is less enthusiastic. He argues with Chuck every chance he gets. The day after the sign is put up, it disappears. They put up another sign, but it disappears too. Vanessa expects Mike is to blame. She sends Mike over to get another sign from the Larabees. Mike rings the doorbell, but doesn’t get an immediate answer. He sees several signs in the Larabees’ yard and decides to take one, but Chuck comes out and catches him in the act. Mike and Chuck create a large sign and chain it to the Baxters’ tree. Then they talk about the hardships of friendship over a beer. Meanwhile, Vanessa has lunch with Carol and finds out that Carol wants to cut the school arts program that was started by Vanessa herself. Vanessa decides she is not supporting Carol’s candidacy anymore. As a fiscal conservative, Mike likes Carol’s desire to cut the school budget and wants to keep the yard sign up.Vanessa

Eve, Mandy and Kristen

Eve has a crush on a guy at school and he asks her to copy his homework. She asks her sisters for advice. Mandy tells Eve that he is just using her and saying no will make the guy respect her. Then Kristen comes in and says the same thing, but Eve listens to Kristen and ignores Mandy. After Eve tells the guy he can’t copy her homework, he asks her out on a group date. Kristen thinks he is interested in Eve. Mandy believes Eve should refuse. She claims guys only go on group dates so they can “keep their options open”. Eve goes on the date, but her crush abandons her in favor of another girl. Eve decides to start listening to Mandy instead of Kristen.Eve, Mandy and Kristen
