The X Factor, Season 3, Episode 11: Top Three


In this episode, the judges must eliminate one contestant from each category.

Girls Category

Rion Paige performed Demi Lovato’s song “Skyscraper”. Simon and Paulina Rubio commended her. But Rion better watch out: she received the lowest number of votes from TV viewers. Watch Rion’s performance here.

Khaya Cohen’s vocals sounded fantastic! But Simon and Demi agreed that she wasn’t yet relating to the audience. Watch Khaya’s performance here.

Ellona Santiago performed a dance number that blew Kelly Rowland and Paulina away. Ellona looked like a true diva. Simon loved her win-it attitude. Ellona’s performance is below:

Danie Geimer showed off both the strong and fragile side of her vocals with “Wrecking Ball”. But this performance was not as good as her previous performances. Simon Cowell said he was not sure she had the X Factor. Unfortunately, Danie was sent home. Watch Danie’s performance here.

Boys Category

Carlos Guevara showed off his unique vocal tone, but his performance was a bit pitchy. Simon really liked him. Watch Carlos’s performance here.

Tim Olstad had great vocals, but both Simon and Demi noticed that there was a lack of energy. Tim needs to get a bit more X Factor to impress the judges. Watch Tim’s performance here.

Carlito Olivero rocked Latino music on the stage. Demi loved it. Simon called him “absolutely fantastic”. Carlito’s performance is below:

Josh Levi might be a good performer, but his vocals needed some work. He was sent home. Watch Josh’s performance here.

Over-25s Category

Jeff Gutt gave a pretty good performance. The judges are really impressed with all of his performances so far. Watch Jeff’s performance here.

Rachel Potter managed to hit the high notes this time. Rachel and Jeff Gutt were neck-in-neck in the online polls. Watch Rachel’s performance here.

Lillie McCloud is definitely showing herself to be one of the winners in this competition. Simon did worry she is a little dated, but the other judges did not agree. Although Lillie has an amazing voice, her TV viewer score was quite low. Lillie’s performance is below:

James Kenney gave a great performance. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite match up to Jeff Gutt. James was sent home. Watch James’ performance here.

Groups Category

Alex & Sierra performed a personalized rendition of “Blurred Lines”. As always, their vocals blew the competition out of the water. Watch Alex & Sierra’s performance here.

Restless Road showed off more great harmonies with Katy Perry’s “Roar”. Kelly said she would be buying every one of their future records. Watch Restless Road’s performance here.

Sweet Suspense showed off their star power with a true pop performance. They truly shined. Sweet Suspense’s performance is below:

Roxxy Montana gave a more current and relatable performance, but their vocals were not spot on. They were sent home. Watch Roxxy Montana’s performance here.
